DIE ZEIT – December 2, 2025 – Youth organization calls for strike and protests against conscription
The School Strike Against Conscription alliance is organizing protests in several cities on Friday. The Bundestag (German Parliament) will vote on the new conscription law that day.
Youth and student organizations have called for a nationwide day of protest against the federal government’s conscription plans on Friday. The Bundestag will vote on the proposed conscription law that day. Two school strikes against conscription are planned in Berlin. According to a police spokesperson, a total of 3,000 participants are expected there.
According to Deutschlandfunk, the organizing School Strike Against Conscription alliance is supported by, among others, peace organizations, the education union GEW, and the BSW. The organizers report that there are already around 90 strike committees in several cities, including Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Leipzig, Magdeburg, Münster, and Rostock. …
DIE ZEIT – 2. Dezember 2025 – Jugendorganisation ruft zu Streik und Protesten gegen Wehrdienst auf
Das Bündnis Schulstreik gegen Wehrdienst organisiert für Freitag Proteste in mehreren Städten. Der Bundestag stimmt an dem Tag über das neue Wehrdienstgesetz ab.
Jugend- und Schülerorganisationen haben für Freitag zu einem bundesweiten Protesttag gegen die Wehrdienstpläne der Bundesregierung aufgerufen. An dem Tag wird im Bundestag über das geplante Wehrdienstgesetz abgestimmt. In Berlin sollen zwei Schulstreiks gegen die Wehrpflicht stattfinden. Nach Angaben eines Polizeisprechers werden dort insgesamt 3.000 Teilnehmende erwartet.
Unterstützt wird das organisierende Bündnis Schulstreik gegen Wehrpflicht laut Deutschlandfunk unter anderem von Friedensorganisationen, der Bildungsgewerkschaft GEW und dem BSW. Nach Angaben der Organisatoren gibt es bereits rund 90 Streikkomitees in mehreren Städten, darunter außer in Berlin auch in Hamburg, München, Köln, Leipzig, Magdeburg, Münster und Rostock…
