Segnaliamo questo testo di Sandro Mezzadra e Michael Hardt, che inaugura il progetto Portolan, un blog collegato a South Atlantic Quarterly:
Portolan, the project we inaugurate with this essay, is both international and internationalist. It aims to include authors and address political issues that arise from a range of national, regional, and local contexts, and, at the same time, to highlight correspondences among political situations and solidarities among movements across a wide variety of borders. Although we use the language of international relations and the international world in a rather conventional way, we are well aware of its limits for grasping the interconnections and superpositions that characterize today the structures of domination and the struggles for liberation. Portolan’s focus on the world scale does not lead us to neglect other levels of analysis. It rather provides an angle from which to investigate various issues, including social reproduction, the operations of capital, race and racism, patriarchy, and the exercise of political rule. These and other domains will figure prominently in Portolan, and we endeavor to explore them while giving priority to the standpoint and methods of social struggles. The reference to nautical maps in the project’s title is a gesture towards the need to forge new conceptual tools for navigating the turbulence of the global present.
